FAQ
When can I use my bonus lift ticket?2025-09-22T15:02:32-05:00

Bonus lift tickets may be used, weather permitting, any time between Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 and Sunday, March 22nd, 2026.

Do all lessons, programs, and camps come with a bonus lift ticket?2025-09-22T15:05:34-05:00

No, not all types of lessons come with bonus lift tickets. Only the 3-week regular season programs come with one bonus lift ticket to use between the stipulated regular dates.

I registered multiple participants in the 3-week group lessons. Can I guarantee they will all be in the same group together?2025-09-22T15:05:38-05:00

Participants in the group’s lessons are organized first and foremost by ability level. Once a participant has successfully performed the required skills safely, confidently, and consistently, they progress to the next level. If not able to do so, participants may not move to the next level. As a result, individuals who sign up together may not progress at the same rate.

Can I request the same instructor for all my lessons?2025-09-22T15:05:42-05:00

Requests may be made, but are not guaranteed, as this is dependent on instructor availability. Instructor assignments are consistent unless otherwise unable to accommodate.

What teaching system does Uplands Snow School use?2025-09-22T15:06:07-05:00

Uplands uses a progressive 5-level system, designed to allow participants to progress on their own accord. Criteria to constitute a levelling up are to be able to safely, confidently, and consistently perform all skills in the level they are currently placed.

How can I keep track of my child’s progression throughout the lessons/season?2025-09-22T15:06:33-05:00

All participants in all programs receive a report card at the end of the lesson. Report cards are to exhibit what skills and drills were addressed in the lesson. Not all skills may be practiced in a lesson. It is recommended to bring the previous lessons’ report card to give a starting point and information. Report cards, however, are a small representation of the participant’s ability. It is important to note that a lesson is a constant and complete evaluation. Progression and regression are natural, as with weather, athleticism, age, etc. Progression is not the same for all, and can not be defined or measured based on a timeline.

How can I get my child to progress more quickly through each level?2025-09-22T15:06:55-05:00

All participants are recommended to utilize their lift ticket time to practice the skills learned in the lessons, outside of lesson time. Practicing outside of lessons will accelerate the abilities and learned skills.

My child has completed all the levels and reached Advanced. What’s the next step for them?2025-09-22T15:07:25-05:00

The Apprentice Program is the next natural step for any participants who have reached the Advanced level. For more information, contact the Snow School Director at snowsupervisor.uplands@golfnorth.ca

What should I expect for my first lesson and first visit to Uplands?2025-09-22T15:07:48-05:00

All lesson/program/camp participants are evaluated upon their first visit to Uplands. It is important to note that regression between seasons may occur and factor into level placement. Please carefully review all email correspondences from the Uplands Team prior to your lesson.

What’s the difference between a one-off private lesson and all the other offered lessons?2025-09-22T15:08:05-05:00

One-off private/semi-private lessons are a one-shot, which is not part of a preset program or camp. These types of lessons are most often a precursor to participation in a set program. By design, the on off private lessons provide more flexibility if unable to commit to a set program.

What type of runs do we have at our learning facility?2025-09-22T15:08:28-05:00

Uplands consists of designated runs: 2 green, 1 blue, 1 black, along with a terrain park. For daily notice, review our calendar for up-to-date information.

What are the hours of operation at Uplands?2025-09-22T15:08:45-05:00

Uplands’ hours of operation vary between time periods over the season. Please review our calendar and the listed operating hours.

How do I redeem my bonus lift ticket?2025-09-23T13:32:10-05:00

To redeem your bonus lift ticket, please present the 3-Week Program ID tag or the Parent Pass provided to each participant per term on the day you wish to use it. Retain these tags even after the term has ended to ensure your redemption. Please note that the Parent Pass bonus lift ticket is transferable; however, the bonus ticket for the participant enrolled in the 3-Week Program is not transferable.

Do I need to book ahead to ski/snowboard for the day?2025-09-23T13:34:47-05:00

No, advanced bookings are not available. As long as the hill is open, daily lift tickets and equipment rentals can be purchased at the chalet on the day of your visit.

I am enrolled in the programs and camps but will not be able to come to on the rental sizing and pass pick up dates available, what do I do?2025-09-23T13:35:20-05:00

If you are unable to attend on the designated dates, you may visit our office during regular hours prior to your first lesson to pick up your equipment and, if applicable, be measured for rentals. Completing this step before your first lesson ensures you maximize your time on the hill. Equipment and measurements only need to be done once; after that, your items will be prepared and ready for pick-up at the rental shop for all subsequent lessons.
