Whether you want to ski, snowboard, or just learn the ropes, Uplands has got you covered. Located in the Greater Toronto Area, Uplands is easily accessible for a day of fun, or even the whole weekend!

With a vertical drop of some 100 feet and slopes of varying difficulty averaging 1,000 feet in length, Uplands is the perfect environment to learn skiing for beginners of all ages—but especially for children.

Our instructors are all certified and use CSIA and CASI teaching methods that effectively develop skill and confidence in the skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

While participating in lessons, all individuals regardless of age, must wear an Alpine Helmet on the hill and chairlift/magic carpet.
Everyone must be at least 3.6 feet, 44 inches (110 centimeters) tall to ride the chairlift and magic carpet unaccompanied by an adult or guardian.
All public holidays, as well as Winter Break and March Break, are subject to weekend rates.

Please note, semi-private lessons are taught at the pace of the most inexperienced participant. Private lessons are encouraged for beginners, on a one-on-one basis. Additional lift tickets and rental packages may be purchased at an additional cost before or after the three hour lift ticket time is concluded. An administration fee of $35 +tax will be charged if the cancellation has not been made 24 hours prior to the lesson taking place. Lessons may be rescheduled at no cost if notice is given more than 24 hours prior to the lesson taking place. Lessons that are not rescheduled within a 24-hour period, will be issued a GolfNorth Credit onto the customers online account, and subject to a $35 +tax administration fee. If cancellation or rescheduling is not done prior to the 24-hour period, the lesson fee and rental equipment packages are non-refundable. Rental equipment packages include skis, ski boots, and an alpine helmet. This program is designed to allow children from a young age to learn how to ski in this one-on-one style lesson. Rental equipment packages include skis, ski boots, and an alpine helmet. Alpine helmets are mandatory on the hills and chairlift/magic carpet for all those participating in any of our programs, regardless of age or ability level. All individuals under the age of 18, must wear an alpine helmet on the hill and chairlift/magic carpet at all times. All participants 3.6 ft, 44 in (110 cm) and under, must be accompanied by an adult to ride the chairlift/magic carpet. All participants enrolled in a 3-week group program receive one complimentary lift ticket, which may be redeemed between Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 to Sunday, March 17th, 2024, weather permitting. Only those who have purchased a rental equipment package for their programs, receive a complementary rental equipment for the bonus lift ticket redemption day. To redeem this lift ticket, you must present the program card at the main office, with the participant on the day of intended usage.

All individuals under the age of 18, must wear an alpine helmet on the hill and chairlift/magic carpet at all times. This course is not a pass/fail, and may be repeated until the individual is eligible to take their Level 1 at the age of 14. Students who are advanced, may have the opportunity to work at Uplands as a Ski Apprentice. OVERVIEW:
Our two hour one-on-one program is excellent for introducing your child to snowboarding this March break season. Camps do not include a lunch or dinner break. Additional lift tickets and rental packages may be purchased for both participants and adults who wish to continue on-hill before or after the two hour camp time. Camps do not include a lunch or dinner break. Rental equipment packages for each participant includes a snowboard, snowboard boots, and an alpine helmet. Alpine helmets are mandatory on the hills and chairlift/magic carpet for all those participating in any of our programs, regardless of age or ability level. All individuals under the age of 18, must wear an alpine helmet on the hill and chairlift/magic carpet at all times. All participants 3.6 ft, 44 in (10 cm) and under, must be accompanied by an adult to ride the chairlift/magic carpet in and outside of lesson time in and outside of lesson time.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3.6 ft, 44 in (110 cm) to participate in Group Camps
  • Recommended for participants 7 years of age and up, if height requirement is met
  • All under this required height, must participate in the one-on-one Kinder Camp

Additional lift tickets and rental packages may be purchased for both participants and adults who wish to continue on-hill after the four hour camp time is concluded. Camps do not include a lunch or dinner break. Rental equipment packages for each participant includes a snowboard, snowboard boots, and an alpine helmet. Alpine helmets are mandatory on the hills and chairlift/magic carpet for all those participating in any of our programs, regardless of age or ability level. All individuals under the age of 18, must wear an alpine helmet on the hill and chairlift/magic carpet at all times. All participants 3.6 ft, 44 in (110 cm) and under, must be accompanied by an adult/guardian to ride the chairlift/magic carpet.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum height of 2 ft, 24 in (60 cm) to participate in one-on-one private lessons
  • 3.5 ft, 42 in (106 cm) and below (2 to 6 years of age) must participate in one-on-one lessons
  • Those above the required height may participate in semi-private sessions (7 years of age and up)
  • Those under the required height are only eligible for private lessons

RATIO: 1:1 or a maximum of 4:1 if all participants meet height requirements for eligibility

LESSON/LIFT TICKET:

  • 3 hour lift ticket
  • 50 minute lesson
  • 2 hour practice time before or after the lesson, without the Instructor

COST:

  • $100 +tax for the first person in a semi-private lesson, or for a single person in a private lesson
  • $60 +tax per each additional person, up to a maximum of 4 participants in a semi-private lesson

  • Weekdays / 3 Hours Weekends: $35 +tax
  • Weekday All Day / Weekend All Day: $40 +tax

OVERVIEW:
Whether you are looking to learn how to snowboard or improve your skills, private/semi private lessons are the way to go. Please note, semi-private lessons are taught at the pace of the most inexperienced participant. Private lessons are encouraged for beginners, on a one-on-one basis. Additional lift tickets and rental packages may be purchased at an additional cost before or after the three hour lift ticket time is concluded. An administration fee of $35 +tax will be charged if the cancellation has not been made 24 hours prior to the lesson taking place. Lessons may be rescheduled at no cost if notice is given more than 24 hours prior to the lesson taking place. Lessons that are not rescheduled within a 24 hour period, will be issued a GolfNorth Credit onto the customers online account, and subject to a $35 +tax administration fee. If cancellation or rescheduling is not done prior to the 24-hour period, the lesson fee and rental equipment packages are non-refundable.
